Climate Justice Now: Art Inspiring Action

Art project theme:
Exploring the relationship
between health, climate, and race.

The purpose of the art project is to increase awareness on the impacts of climate change as well as demonstrate solutions to address this crisis.

18 newly trained youth Climate Reality Leaders will lead art project/exhibits in their local communities, providing an art display of 10-15 pieces of art on 16X20 canvases. The canvasses and supplies will be provided to local youth BIPOC community members to provide an opportunity to express themselves through painting, collage, poetry, etc. This project provides an opportunity for communities to hear from BIPOC youth voices which are critical.

The public will then have the opportunity to view the art display either in person or virtually, and the exhibit will feature two companion components:

  1. A resource list of local organizations addressing race inequality, social inequality, and other climate justice issues with a call to action encouraging attendees to connect with these groups and take action.

  2. An invitation to a FREE online climate justice training series to learn more about climate justice and social movement building. This course will be designed from the ground up by the team carrying out the climate justice grant along with other colleagues.
